Megan Greene

Megan Greene spent most of her younger years growing up in Wausau, Wisconsin. She started out running the 100m-400m in middle school, but was encouraged by coaches to try the longer distances. She was a cross country state champion all four years of high school and took home a few titles in the 800m and 1600m on the track.

Megan attended Duke University on scholarship for XC and track and received a degree in Psychology. She was Duke’s first individual women’s qualifier to the NCAA D1 XC Championship her sophomore year and returned the following two years with her team. She received All-ACC and All-East honors with PR’s including 2:09.55 800m, 4:22.07 1500m, 9:35.28 indoor 3k and 17:28 5k in XC.

After college, Megan met her husband Mike and moved to Colorado for an internship at the University of Denver in the Adult Sports Program. She moved on to work in the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting. She now enjoys working part time with Colorado Race Timing and as the track coach for the Colorado Columbines.

Megan has a USATF Level 1 Coaching certification and was formerly the USATF Colorado Association Membership and Sanctions Chair. She is a member of the Runners Roost Lakewood Elite team. She most recently ran the 2019 Chicago Marathon in 2:59:03. She plans to toe the line for the first ever fall Boston Marathon this October. Like our other Coyote coaches, she has incorporated regular strength training to mitigate injury.

Megan and Mike are the proud parents of one Coyote, Liam. Their daughter Audrey is a former Coyote now running for Dakota Ridge High School. They all enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, camping, SUP and playing with their Brittanys, Buddy and Ozzie.
